Privacy Policy
Your reflections deserve careful handling.
This policy explains how emvola, operated by Ovtari Private Limited, handles information when you use the emvola website and application.
Effective date: August 21, 2026 · Last updated: September 11, 2026
1. Who is responsible for your information
Ovtari Private Limited (“Ovtari”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates emvola and is responsible for the processing described in this policy.
Privacy enquiries can be sent to support@emvola.com with the subject “Privacy enquiry”.
2. Information you provide
- Account and authentication information, such as your email address and sign-in method
- Your selected country or region, confirmation that you are at least 18, and versioned legal and safety-consent records
- Profile details and onboarding preferences
- Messages you send in AI conversations and the responses generated for you
- Mood check-ins, notes, journal entries, and saved reflections
- Optional voice recordings you choose to make for transcription
- Responses you choose to save while using guided modes
- Optional daily focus, Small Step, Support Path progress, and Carry Forward notes
- Context items you intentionally ask emvola to carry into future conversations
- Feedback, support requests, and information you choose to include in them
- Subscription and plan status associated with your account
We do not ask for your date of birth. Your country selection is provided by you and is not inferred from your Google account or IP address for emergency guidance.
3. Information collected through use
- App and device information needed for compatibility and troubleshooting
- Security, authentication, and request information used to protect the service
- Optional anonymous product events, such as whether a feature opened or completed and broad reliability or response-time ranges
- Crash and diagnostic information
Anonymous product analytics are off unless you choose to enable them during setup or in Settings. These events do not include chat or journal text, mood scores, notes, your identity, exact reminder times, or advertising data. You can turn anonymous analytics off in Settings; doing so also resets the analytics identifier stored for this app installation.
Crash diagnostics are handled separately and are limited to technical information needed to investigate reliability problems. We do not intentionally place the text of your chats, journals, mood notes, or voice transcriptions into analytics or crash-reporting events.
4. How we use information
- Create, authenticate, and maintain your account
- Generate AI responses and provide the features you request
- Save and display your conversations, moods, journals, daily focus, guided sessions, Small Steps, Support Paths, weekly reviews, and insights
- Calculate descriptive progress and pattern summaries from information you recorded
- Manage plans, entitlements, exports, and deletion
- Respond to support and privacy enquiries
- Detect misuse, protect accounts, and maintain service reliability
- Improve product usability, performance, and safety
5. AI processing
When you use AI conversation features, the content needed to answer you is transmitted to our AI service provider. If you explicitly request an AI journal summary, the selected journal entry—or the entries from the selected weekly review period—is transmitted for that purpose. Guided modes themselves use reviewed app-defined steps and do not require AI generation.
If you choose voice input, the recording is sent to OpenAI for speech-to-text processing. emvola keeps the recording only in temporary app storage while it is being transcribed, removes that local temporary file after the request, and does not save the recording in our database or object storage. The resulting text remains editable and is not sent as a chat message or added to a journal draft until you review it and explicitly choose that action. OpenAI processes the recording under the data controls applicable to our API account.
AI responses, summaries, and transcriptions may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable. Do not include information about another person unless you have the right to provide it. emvola is not a confidential professional service and should not receive information that is unnecessary for your reflection.
6. Safety-related processing
emvola may automatically look for words or phrases associated with self-harm, suicide, violence, abuse, or immediate danger so that it can pause ordinary chat or a guided mode and display safety-focused guidance.
When a guided mode is interrupted for safety, the triggering free-text response is not added to that guided session record. This automated feature can make mistakes. emvola is not continuously monitored by a person, does not clinically assess risk, and does not contact emergency services on your behalf.
7. Service providers
We use providers to operate emvola, including:
- Supabase for authentication, database, and related backend services
- OpenAI for generating AI responses
- Vercel for application hosting and delivery
- Google Firebase for app analytics and crash diagnostics
- Google Play for Android distribution, purchases, and subscription management
These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us, subject to their terms and our configurations.
8. When information may be disclosed
We may disclose information to service providers, when required by applicable law or valid legal process, to protect users and the service from fraud or security threats, or as part of a legitimate corporate transaction.
We do not sell your personal or sensitive information.
9. International processing
Our providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate contractual and organizational safeguards for international processing.
10. Retention and deletion
We keep account information while your account is active and as needed to operate the features you use. Information may remain temporarily in protected backups or be retained where necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or financial recordkeeping.
You can delete your account in Profile or Settings. If you cannot sign in, use our external deletion process.
How to delete your emvola account →Website cookies and measurement
On the public website, we use Google Tag Manager to manage analytics and advertising tags. The container is present with analytics and advertising storage denied by default. Before you accept, configured Google tags may send limited cookieless signals, including the consent state and basic page or device information, but they cannot use analytics or advertising cookies. Full optional measurement is enabled only after you accept optional cookies. We store your cookie choice for up to six months. You can reject optional cookies or change your choice through Cookie preferences at the bottom of public pages.
Website marketing tags are separate from Firebase app analytics and are not loaded on account or app screens or inside the native app. Our website page-view events exclude query strings, fragments, and personal app content. Withdrawing consent stops future cookie-based measurement; it does not erase information already processed.
11. Security
We use measures such as encrypted network connections, access controls, restricted server credentials, database security policies, and abuse protection. No online service can promise absolute security.
If you believe your account or information has been compromised, contact support@emvola.com.
12. Your choices and rights
- Review or update available account details
- Export data associated with your account
- Delete your account and associated app data
- Withdraw optional permissions through device settings
- Contact us about access, correction, restriction, objection, or other privacy rights available under applicable law
13. Children
emvola is for people aged 18 and over and is not directed to children or minors. We record the user's 18+ confirmation rather than collecting a date of birth.
If you believe a child has created an account, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where appropriate.
14. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as emvola or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice where a change materially affects users.
